If the lactating person has United or UMR insurance, I will bill their insurance plan directly. It is the patient’s responsibility to verify that I am an in-network provider for the plan. I bill conservatively, so there is almost always no cost-sharing to the patient (no co-pays or deductible payments).

While I am in-network with most United plans, there are a few select plans for which I am out of network. Specifically, if you have a United/Harvard Pilgrim combo plan and your insurance card says “Passport Connect,” I am not in-network. It is very important to that you verify my in-network status with your United plan (online portal or phone call) before booking.

  • United Initial and Follow-Up Consults can be In-Home or Office.

Prenatal, Return to Work, and Weaning Consults must be Office visits.

United will NOT cover Virtual visits of any kind.

  • All In-Home Consults are subject to a $50 Home Visit Convenience Fee; this fee is ineligible for insurance coverage. You can avoid this fee by booking an Office Consult.

For families in the grey shaded towns on this map, there will be an additional $50 Extended Travel Fee that is ineligible for insurance coverage.

  • If your baby does not have United insurance, there will be a $100 fee that is not eligible for insurance coverage. You can submit an out-of-network reimbursement request to their insurance company, but I cannot guarantee reimbursement.
